Anthem to Prescott Shuttle

Check Rates

Traveling between the family‑friendly community of Anthem and the historic town of Prescott is a scenic experience, and Airport Shuttle of Phoenix makes it effortless. Our private door‑to‑door shuttle follows the most reliable corridor – the stretch of I‑17 south to SR‑69 – delivering you directly from your doorstep in Anthem to any address in Prescott without the hassle of rental cars or multiple transfers.

The straight‑line distance between the two cities is roughly 50 miles; the road distance adds a few extra miles as the route hugs the foothills of the Black Hills and winds through beautiful desert landscape. Under normal conditions the trip takes between 68 and 93 minutes, depending on traffic on I‑17 and the curve of SR‑69 through the Verde Valley. We schedule pickups to align with your flight arrival or departure at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), so you can transition from runway to road with confidence.

Why choose our Anthem‑Prescott shuttle?

  • Our drivers are locals who know every exit and side road, ensuring you avoid construction delays and enjoy smooth passage through the “Highway 69” stretch that skirts the Prescott National Forest.
  • We serve all neighborhoods in Anthem, from the master‑planned Village at Anthem to the golf‑course‑adjacent communities of Canyon Vista, providing a personalized pickup point right at your front door.
  • In Prescott, we drop you off wherever you need – the historic downtown square, the vibrant Sharlot Hall Museum area, or the growing campus of Prescott College.
  • Travelers can relax in a climate‑controlled vehicle, with ample trunk space for luggage, ski gear, or even a small pet carrier.

Our shuttle is a private service, meaning you travel alone or with your party, not sharing space with strangers. The vehicle departs Anthem only after all passengers are onboard, and we keep the route focused on the most direct path, cutting out unnecessary detours. Whether you are heading to a business meeting at the Prescott Regional Medical Center or a weekend getaway to the Granite Dells, you can count on a predictable schedule and a professional driver who monitors your flight status for any adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How early should I schedule my pickup?

We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance. For flights arriving at PHX, a 30‑minute buffer after your scheduled landing time allows us to accommodate typical taxi and baggage times while still meeting the 68‑93‑minute door‑to‑door window.

What if my flight is delayed?

Whether you’re commuting for work, planning a weekend getaway, or heading to one of Arizona’s most charming historic towns, the 56‑mile journey from Anthem to Prescott can be made by car, shuttle, rideshare, or public bus. Below you’ll find the fastest driving route, alternative transportation options, a side‑by‑side comparison of travel times and estimated costs, and a handful of local tips to make your trip smooth and enjoyable.

Driving Distance and Typical Travel Time

The straight‑line (flight) distance between Anthem and Prescott is about 48 miles, but the road distance is roughly 56 miles (≈ 90 km). According to Google Maps, the trip takes about 1 hour 10 minutes in normal traffic when using the most direct highway route (source: Google Maps). Heavy rush‑hour traffic on the I‑17 corridor can add 15‑30 minutes to the drive.

Key Highways and Turn‑by‑Turn Directions

Two main highway corridors connect the two communities. The most common route follows U.S. Route 60 (Grand Avenue) and Arizona State Route 79:

  1. Depart Anthem on Anthem Way and head north to the junction with U.S. Route 60.
  2. Merge onto U.S. Route 60 North and continue for roughly 30 miles through New River and Black Canyon City.
  3. Just north of Wickenburg, turn left (west) onto Arizona State Route 79 (also signed as AZ‑79). This highway runs about 25 miles north to Prescott, passing through the historic town of Mayer.
  4. Enter Prescott on AZ‑79, which becomes Montezuma Street and leads directly into the historic downtown courthouse square.

For a more scenic drive, especially if you enjoy views of the Verde River and the Mingus Mountain foothills, consider the alternate route via Interstate 17 (I‑17) and Arizona State Route 89A:

  • Take I‑17 North from Phoenix to Exit 262 (Camp Verde).
  • Merge onto Arizona State Route 260 East for a short stretch, then take Arizona State Route 89A North through Cottonwood and Jerome to Prescott.
  • This loop adds about 20 miles but offers dramatically different landscapes and several opportunity stops.

If you have time, these real Arizona landmarks make great quick breaks:

  • Black Canyon City – A small community with a historic train depot and the popular Black Canyon Trail for short hikes.
  • Wickenburg – Known for its gold‑rush heritage; stop at the Desert Freedom Museum or enjoy a coffee on historic Front Street.

Transportation Alternatives: Shuttle, Rideshare, and Bus

If you prefer not to drive, several public and private services operate between Anthem and Prescott. While there is no direct commuter rail, you can combine a short rideshare or shuttle to a larger hub (such as the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport) and then connect to Prescott‑bound services.

Shared Shuttle Services

Shared shuttles offer a cost‑effective way to travel without the hassle of driving. Companies that serve the Anthem‑Prescott corridor include:

  • Airport Shuttle of Phoenix – Provides scheduled rides from Anthem and surrounding communities to Prescott. Trips typically depart in the early morning and late afternoon, matching commuter demand. Booking is required; the service runs 5–6 times daily.
  • Prescott Area Transit (PAT) – Offers a limited number of daily trips on the Prescott‑Phoenix Express route, which includes a stop near Anthem’s main community center.

Because shared shuttles follow a fixed schedule, it’s wise to reserve at least 24 hours in advance, especially during weekends or holidays.

Rideshare (Uber & Lyft)

Rideshare apps are widely available in the Phoenix metro area and can be used for the full Anthem‑to‑Prescott trip. Longer trips (over 50 miles) may trigger a “long‑distance” surcharge, which the app will display before you confirm the ride.

Public Bus Service

Yavapai County’s public transit system, Yavapai County Transit (YCT), runs a limited weekday route connecting Prescott with outlying communities. The route that comes closest to Anthem is the Prescott–Camp Verde Line, which stops at the Camp Verde Park‑and‑Ride. From there, a separate YCT feeder service can take you to Anthem, but total travel time can exceed 2.5 hours.

For the most up‑to‑date schedule and fare information, visit the Yavapai County Transit website.

Our Pickup Locations

Your Casa Grande shuttle picks up where it says Prearranged. If you are in a wheelchair, do not allow your attendant to leave you anywhere except Prearranged. The signs are easy to see and they are always at the outer curb. Sometimes security will send people to the wrong place, so it's better to follow the directions below. PHX also won't allow drivers to walk more than 15 feet away from their vehicle or wait, so good communication is essential. Turn on your cell phone and take it off of airplane mode, so your driver can call or text you. If you don't recognize the number, it's probably your driver.

Terminal 3 Prearranged is across the crosswalk from Door 6 and to the right, south side of the building.

Terminal 4 Prearranged is across the crosswalk from Door 3, north side of the building, first floor. The sign says "Prearranged Vehicles 3 NORTH".
