You can always change the date and time of your reservation at no cost. If you don't know the exact address, you can enter the city for now to reserve it, and give us the full address later. Our Better Vehicles
What type of vehicle will pick me up?
We send an airport shuttle or SUV (4+ passengers) or a nice car (1-3 passengers) anytime and take you to or from any address in Arizona, not just Sky Harbor. Our vehicles are clean and newer. Most vehicles are luxury and full size. We have Mercedes Sprinters, Chrysler 300's, Lexus ES300 Hybrids, Lincoln MKZ's, and a variety of other vehicles to meet your needs.
Our Pickup Locations
Your Surprise shuttle picks up where it says Prearranged. If you are in a wheelchair, do not allow your attendant to leave you anywhere except Prearranged. The signs are easy to see and they are always at the outer curb. Sometimes security will send people to the wrong place, so it's better to follow the directions below. PHX also won't allow drivers to walk more than 15 feet away from their vehicle or wait, so good communication is essential. Turn on your cell phone and take it off of airplane mode, so your driver can call or text you. If you don't recognize the number, it's probably your driver.
Terminal 3 Prearranged is across the crosswalk from Door 6 and to the right, south side of the building.
Terminal 4 Prearranged is across the crosswalk from Door 3, north side of the building, first floor. The sign says "Prearranged Vehicles 3 NORTH".

Things You Should Know
Does it make sense to take an Uber or Lyft?
Uber and Lyft drivers often cancel once they arrive at your house in Phoenix or Surprise, because the app doesn't tell them where they are going until they arrive at your home. Usually they don't want to drive that far and not get paid to drive back, or they are unavailable to work for that long. This may result in you missing your flight after 2-3 of them cancel in a row, and they charge you $5 each time for the cancellation. You then try to contact Uber or Lyft over the next week to get a refund, and they don't even have a phone number.
Another thing to consider is that Uber and Lyft drivers are never interviewed, so you may get a depressed guy complaining about his life, a tiny car with no leg room or a creeper. Uber and Lyft also do not train their drivers and Sky Harbor is moderately confusing to most people, so they usually have no idea where to go.
How reliable is the Greyhound bus or an Arizona shuttle with a lot of people?
Other shuttle companies that do shared rides will try to pick you up an hour or two earlier, but they make no promises about when you will actually get to PHX. If you're on a tight schedule, the shared ride option with Arizona shuttle or the Greyhound is probably not a good idea. Extra stops and scheduling with other passengers can either make you too early or potentially late. Even with great drivers, passengers can be unpredictable and end up making everyone miss their flight.

Best Routes From Phoenix to Surprise AZ
There are three practical ways to make the drive, and the "best" one depends on the time of day, your starting point in Phoenix, and whether you prioritize speed or scenery.
Route 1: US-60 West (Grand Avenue) — The Direct Route
Grand Avenue (US-60) is the classic Phoenix-to-Surprise corridor and the route behind the standard 22-mile, 34-minute figure. From downtown Phoenix, you head northwest on Grand Avenue through Glendale, past the historic Wigwam area of Litchfield Park's vicinity and the sprawling Westgate entertainment district's orbit, continuing straight into the heart of Surprise. Grand Avenue's signature diagonal cut across the Valley's grid makes it a fast, no-fuss drive — though its signal lights through Glendale and El Mirage can slow you down at peak hours.
Route 2: Loop 303 (Bob Stump Memorial Highway) — The Fast Bypass
Loop 303, officially the Bob Stump Memorial Highway, is the modern freeway that arcs around the West Valley's western edge. If you're coming from north Phoenix or heading to newer developments in Surprise's southern sections, connecting via the Loop 303 is often quicker and far less stop-and-go than surface streets. The 303 also links directly to Interstate 10, making it a natural choice for travelers approaching from the east or south Valley.
Route 3: I-10 to US-60 Combo
For travelers starting in south or east Phoenix, hopping on Interstate 10 west and transitioning to US-60/Grand Avenue is a common approach. This combo lets you cover serious ground on the freeway before the final stretch up Grand Avenue. It's the most flexible route if you're timing your departure around I-10 traffic patterns.

How Long Does It Take to Drive From Phoenix to Surprise?
In normal traffic, the drive takes about 34 to 35 minutes non-stop. But Phoenix traffic is famously time-sensitive, so here's a realistic breakdown:
- Off-peak (midday, late evening): Roughly 30–35 minutes, smooth sailing most of the way.
- Rush hour (weekday mornings and late afternoons): Expect an extra 15 to 45 minutes, with about 30 minutes being the average added delay. Grand Avenue through Glendale is the biggest bottleneck.
- Spring Training season (February–March): Roads around Surprise Stadium and the Sports and Recreation Complex get noticeably busier on game days, especially near Bullard Avenue and Cactus Road.
For comparison, public transit or a shared-ride service with multiple stops can stretch the same trip to an hour and 15 minutes or more. A dedicated door-to-door shuttle ride from Phoenix to Surprise runs about 35 minutes in normal traffic — one reason many travelers skip the bus entirely. Airport Shuttle of Phoenix picks riders up on their schedule 24/7, and professional drivers typically arrive 5–10 minutes early for home pickups.
Gas Cost, Fuel Consumption, and Emissions for the Trip
If you're driving yourself, here's what the round trip looks like from a cost and environmental standpoint:
- Estimated fuel cost (one way): Approximately $4.31, based on the average Arizona gas price of $4.83 per gallon of regular. Costs are estimates only and fluctuate with the market.
- CO2 emissions (one way): An average passenger car releases about 17.50 pounds of CO2 over the course of the trip.
- Carbon footprint per mile: Roughly 0.79 pounds of CO2 per mile driven.
Sharing the ride — whether carpooling with colleagues or booking a shuttle — spreads that cost and emissions figure across multiple passengers, which is one of the more efficient ways to cover the corridor regularly.

Driving Tips for the Phoenix–Surprise Corridor
- Avoid Grand Avenue at 4–6 p.m. Weekday evenings are the worst window on US-60 through Glendale; Loop 303 is often the better alternative.
- Watch the diagonal. Grand Avenue doesn't follow the Valley's grid, so cross-street intersections can be confusing for first-timers. Stay in through-lanes and follow the US-60 signage.
- Plan around events. Cardinals games at State Farm Stadium and Cactus League games both snarl West Valley traffic; check event calendars before you go.
- Hydrate and fuel up. The stretch between the I-17 and the 303 is classic Sonoran Desert — hot in summer, and services thin out quickly on the fringes.
- Have tips or questions to share about the route? Locals constantly discover new shortcuts as the West Valley grows — traffic patterns around Surprise have changed noticeably as Loop 303 has filled in.
